I’m Lucie, a Yorkshire girl from Leeds and my hair career began at the tender age of 15!
I am a L’Oreal trained colourist and through my training, I received a phenomenal education which allowed me to experience an incredible wealth of knowledge and gain the skills which I continue to build upon to offer an incredible selection of hairdressing services including colouring, cutting and styling.
Throughout my training and early career, I realised that I was different to your everyday hairdresser and didn’t fit the cookie cutter approach I’d seen elsewhere. Armed with my love of vintage and a desire to create a friendly, non-judgmental space to express my love of vintage, pin up and colourful, traffic stopping hair; So on a whim I quit my job packed my bags and moved to London.
In London, I began my journey in creating the I Love Lucie salon and brand you see today and I met a great number of amazing, inspirational and talented people who helped me push my boundaries and further develop my skill set and experience. I gained a brilliant array of loyal clients, whom of many I still see to this day. Thanks to my wonderful friends at Hula Beauty Hackney, I am still privileged to be able to offer services in London on selected dates in a stunning creative space; Hula is my home from home!
However, because my heart belongs to the North, I felt my calling to ‘come home’ and after a whirlwind six years in London, I ran my finger over a map and made the wild decision to move to sunny Manchester (not really, pack an umbrella if you’re visiting!) and took the bold move to open my salon: I Love Lucie in Stockport, Manchester.
The salon has now been open for over three years and my goal every day is to welcome clients, new and existing, as though we are old friends meeting for a well deserved catch up! I love to sit my clients in the chair and connect with them to ensure they feel complete freedom, without judgment or fear, to express their creativity in a way which feels most authentic and comfortable to them. But most importantly, I want everyone to feel valued and well looked after, because finding the right hairdresser is a huge practise of self-care.
And most importantly, I cannot tell you all about I Love Lucie without a mention of my ‘pawfect’ assistant Buddy; a beautiful little Bichon who would have you know the most important part of visiting our salon is treats (mostly for him) and cuddles at the backwash.
